15 yrs old boy severely beaten by Police | AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): Students of Bordowali school have blocked National Highway at Drop Gate (Agartala) demanding Justice for Tamal Das, who was allegedly beaten by AD Nagar PS Police Officer Ajay Sukla Das and his nephew Tushar Saha on Friday evening. Tamal left in coma at Kolkata and during the blockade the family members of Tamal told media that he breathed his last at there. The 15 years boy was beaten brutally, hit massively on the head, left in critical stage of coma in a hospital at Kolkata and now agitators have informed "Tamal died". But seeing no arrest of the accused in this attack case, students of Bordowali School and locals have blocked National Highway at Agartala Drop Gate demanding "Justice for Tamal". The blockade held since around 10.30 am and around 12 noon when locals, students had been continuing the blockade over National Highway they informed media that Tamal died. As the main accused Tushar Saha is nephew of Second O/C- of AD Nagar PS Ajay Kumar Shukla Das, thus he was not arrested before the massive road blockade had shaken Police Headquarter. | 12-Aug-2018 |

Major breakthrough by Tripura Police in | AGARTALA, Aug 11 (TIWN): At last two masterminds behind Laxmi Narayan Bari theft case of August 2nd, are under Police’s grip. After 9 days of Tripura's ancient Laxmi Narayan Bari temple was looted, husband, wife have been arrested from Mohanpur, South Taranagar at 7.30 pm on Saturday led by Sidhai Police under SDPO Suman Majumder. The arrested husband Ashim Das and wife Mitali Das are now under Police’s interrogation at East Agartala Police Station. Ashim Das is by profession a mason. Police have arrested both of them from their Taranagar house at Mohanpur. A case has been registered against both of them, whereas SDPO Suman Majumder has claimed total connection of the husband-wife behind the crime. A vehicle was also recovered from their home with number : TR-01-AE-1932. Police are now interrogating them in East Police Station. At the same time, Police have arrested four more accused in a separate theft case from various parts of the state. Daring loot at Agartala after major thef | AGARTALA, Aug 11 (TIWN): One more daring theft case has hit the capital city on Saturday after hefty of cashes were taken away by thieves from a shop in Paradize Chowmuhani, Agartala. Paradise Chowmuhani is located on the heart of Agartala city, where police security is expected 24X7, but in such a prominent location how thieves can dominate the night hours it’s under big question mark. A section of police’s role under scanner has always been alleged by the masses, whereas thieves are roaming under free sky even after looting in Laxmi Narayan Bari like temples. 'Achhe Din' reeling under price hike but | AGARTALA, Aug 10 (TIWN): Fuel price hike has hit the consumers in Tripura in the fifth month of the BJP era. From Friday the hiked taxes has been imposed on Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed natural Gas (CNG). Earlier the CNG price was Rs. 41 per kg, whereas it's from now will be Rs. 44, thus 3 rupees above than the earlier. Now, in case o Piped Natural Gas (PNG) it was earlier Rs. 17.50 now it's Rs. 19. At the same time, CNG stations are less in number leading heavy rows of autos everyday in front of the CNG stations everyday. Demand has raised for increasing more numbers of CNG stations. In case of uses of PNG in Govt Quarter it has been hiked from Rs. 22 to Rs. 25. In the last 5 months, but not a single paisa was hiked for employees or for allowances as promised by BJP before the Election but commodity prices are heavily increasing. With the price hike oppositions are mocking at "Achhee Din" and "Hira" promise of Prime Minister Modi to the Nation and to the state Tripura. It was on July 26 that Tripura cabinet had decided to bring ordinance to hike 2 % cess on Petrol, Diesel, Natural Gas. CPI-M alleges 'massive violence' on Thur | AGARTALA, Aug 10 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M has alleged massive violence centering 'Jail Bharo Andolon' held on Thursday, which was a part of nation-wide protest of the party. Total 14 persons have been injured during the protests,, whereas around 20 sustained minor injuries alleged CPI-M. CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said that since Wednesday especially in Gandacherra strait warnings were given for not to conduct any protest at there. Such threats came across the state. The State Secretary also alleged CPI-M activists at Kanchanpur were attacked, stone pelted when police arrested them after protest.
