Narendra Modi brings Railway revolution in Tripura: Rajdhani Express flagged off from Agartala on Saturday, 'Act-East' Policy to propel Tripura's 'Golden Future'

AGARTALA, Oct 28 (TIWN): Saturday, Oct 28 will be scripted in golden words in the history of Tripura as on this day Tripura witnessed the first Rajdhani Express train running its wheels on the newly laid BG track connecting Agartala and Anand Vihar New Delhi from Agartala Railway station at 2.30 PM. Citing a history in the land of Tripura, Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain on Saturda inaugurated the first Rajdhani Express train connecting Agartala and Anand Vihar,New Delhi from Agartala railway station. Amidst ritual and ceremony the first Rajdhani Express train was inaugurated from Agartala railway station by Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain in presence of Governor Tathagata Roy. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effective ‘look east policy’ Tripura got its first BG express train earlier but Saturday is a golden era in Tripura’s Railway history.

The inauguration ceremony was marked in presence of Bangladesh Railway Minister Moh.Mujibal Haq. Tripura’s ‘Tom-Tom’ Minister Manik Dey, Governor of Tripura Tathagata Rpy, and others remained present in the inauguration program. 

The moment was filled with Joy and ecstasy when the air was filled with the whistle of the BG Express train.Adding another milestone in the history of Tripura, the land-locked state has finally made its entry in the Rajdhani Express BG railway map of the country.  

Improving the transport and connectivity in the landlocked Tripura of the northeast region is one of the top most priorities of the Modi’s look east policy. A lot of focus is being laid to enhance railway connectivity in the region.

Finally the century old and much awaited dream of the people of the landlocked state came true when the first BG train was inaugurated with joy and enthusiasm from the end of the people.

The train left from Agartala railway station and will drop at Delhi Anand Vihar station and vice versa. 

However, amid Agartala and Delhi the train will give stoppage at number of  stations. Starting from Agartala, it will go via Ambassa, Dharmanagar, karimganj, badarpur, New Halflong, Lumbding, Hojai, jaigi road, Guwahati, New Bongaigau, New Jalpaiguri, katihar, barauni junction, patliputra junction, Mugalsarai, Allahabad, Kanpur central and then to Anand Vihar terminal.

The inauguration program began from 1pm in the afternoon and continued for one and half an hour. 

Rail board Member AK Mittal, NFR GM Chatay Ram, GM (construction) HK Jaggi, CMD of IRCON Mohan Tiwari, Indian High commission of Bangladesh HarshBardhan Sringla and others remained present in the program.

However, along with Bangladesh railway minister Moh.Mujibal Haq was also be accompanied by Railway Ministry Secretary Moh.Firoz Salauddin, Bangladesh railway Director General Mon.Amzad Hussein, Agartala- Akhaura rail project Director Moh.Soiful Islam. However, a source claimed that at least 44 people came from railway authority to participate in this inauguration of Agartala-Delhi Express train on July 31. Apart, 6 representatives came along with Bangladesh Railway Minister.
