AGARTALA, Oct 13 (TIWN): A disturbing incident has come to light at the IGMS Hospital, where a patient's relative allegedly faced "punishment" for speaking out about the poor condition of an oxygen cylinder. The patient, 82-year-old Nikhil Dhar, was admitted to the hospital with fever, cold, and cough.
According to his nephew, Ranjan Dhar, the patient was not even administered oxygen despite the cylinder's poor condition. When Ranjan protested, citing his experience in such matters, the hospital staff allegedly referred his uncle to GB Hospital, despite his condition being stable. Ranjan claims that his uncle was "punished" for advocating for better care for other patients, while others in more critical condition were not being shifted.
