AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): With a heartbreaking news for the Govt Employees, Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha announced on Tuesday that in return of the 4th Saturday's holiday from July 1st onwards the Govt employees have to work till 5.30 PM everyday across all the offices. Immediately, this has generated huge resentment among the state govt employees, whereas private company employees are silently enjoying. The exclusive offers or bonanzas for a while had pleased the Govt Employees in Tripura on June 13, but the left front Govt now has reversed the history permanently for the Govt Employees who have to work till the evening till they go for retirement. As it's a Govt's decision, in future also any Govt comes it will remain same and 10 AM to 5.30 PM will be the working hours. In this condition, a huge antipathy generated among the govt employees of Tripura. On June 13, Tripura Govt eventhough did not announce 7th pay commission, but in attempt to divert the pay commission issue, it announced holidays including schools on 2nd and 4th Saturday, to please the Govt employees.

“Both 2nd Saturday and 4th Saturday will be off days for State Govt Employees”, said Saha on June 13. But suddenly what happened that Tripura Govt has taken the decision ? Is this Govt unable to manage the budget & come out of yearly loss and profit issues and thus out of resentments govt has increased the working hours ?

It's noteworthy that Tripura Govt had published the pay review’s decision on Tuesday with 19.68 % salary hike from the Govt employees. From 88 % DA it has been hiked to 125 %, but pensioners were highly deprived, almost got nothing.
