Banking service to heavily hit as Left Front Union to observe strike on Tuesday

AGARTALA, Feb 27 (TIWN): Adding an unscheduled holiday, Tripura banks to be shut down on Tuesday.

Along with the whole Nation, Tripura bankers under United Forum Bank Unions to observe 1 day strike on Feb 28.

The General Secretary of United Forum Bank Unions (Tripura section) placed will raise some demands as :

1.     During demonetization, the loss faced by bankers should be compensated,

2.     To recover the loss faced by various banks during demonetization,

3.     5 day banking service to be launched,

4.     To fill up the vacancies,

5.     To hike the pay scale.

 

It’s worthy to mention here that more than 10 lakh members owing allegiance to the United Front of Bank Unions will observe a one-day token strike on February 28.

All India Bank Officers Confederation president Y. Sudarshan told reporters here on Wednesday that the employees are opposing retrograde amendments in banking and trade union laws; all anti-worker and anti-public sector moves and outsourcing permanent jobs.

The unions demand that adequate compensation be paid to officers and staff of banks for working late and on holidays during the demonetisation process; reimbursement of cost of demonetisation to the banking industry; increase in gratuity limits and making it tax free; full tax exemption for leave encashment; early commencement of wage revision exercise and many more.
