AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): The District Magistrate (DM), West district Abhishek Singh is expected to submit his report into the Dakshin Ramnagar incident before the government by June itself. An elaborate report comprising statements of victims’ family, BSF, police, local villagers and autopsies of both slain persons has been prepared and would be placed before the government within next few days, according to sources in the DM office.

However, it was not known who was blamed for the untoward incident- in which two persons including a BSF jawan died and 15 others were injured on June 6 last. The incident has sparked off resentment among city dwellers. Two separate FIRs were lodged by victim’s family and the BSF authority.

Addl DG of BSF BD Sharma, who had visited the spot recently, claimed the BSF jawan did not committed suicide as saying by local people. Police who are investigating the matter separately tightlipped on the exact cause of BSF jawans’ death. Sharma said, “The BSF jawan was accorded with full-honour adieu and would be given full benefits to the net kin of the slain jawan.

We treated him die-in-harness”.Interestingly, the BSF authority has already ordered a Commandant level probe into the incident to find out the exact event and loopholes on the part of the border guards. Sharma, during his last visit, claimed there was lapse on the BSF authority since Company Commander had sent only four jawans to guard the ‘sensitive’ border area. “We have told the BSF officers to send at least one section of troops to guard border recurrence of such incident’, he said.
