AGARTALA, Jan 14 (TIWN): The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs had recently recommended that the Budget session will commence on January 31 and the Union Budget will be presented the next day so that the new financial provisions come into force from April 1, the beginning of the new fiscal. With this the 7th Pay Commission topic also raised, but how far Union Central budget will be affective for Tripura people.

Talking to BJP State President Biplab Deb in this regard, he said, “Although the state govt. of Tripura hikes the DA provision twice a year but the percentage never ups above 5 %. In the whole year the DA doesn’t go upto 10 % after the whole year. Whereas the state govt employees were waiting for atleast 6th Pay Commission’s implementation, the Finance Dept has sealed the expectation again with only 5 %DA hike ahead of New Year”.

“This govt is hopeless, can not do anything, neither it can benefit it employees”, Deb added.

On the other hand “May implement new allowances structure for government staff by March”, a Central Finance Ministry official recently said. On the other hand whereas Tripura Govt will receive the full benefits of 7th pay commission in Finance Dept account but the Govt will not distribute the amount to the employees.

The 7th pay commission had recommended abolishing of 51 allowances and subsuming 37 others out of 196 allowances. On the protest of central government employees, the government set Committee on Allowances headed by the Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasaup to review allowances other than dearness allowance, but no hope for Tripura Govt employees so far !

Recently asking about the 5 % DA hike, Deb said, “How can the govt give more DA as it has zero income, no revenue generation”.

“Nothing will happen under this Govt. It has no initiative to generate more revenues so that the income of the state govt would increase. So how it will hike the DA more than 5 %”?, Deb added.

“This DA hike with 5 % is just a show-off and to hide to failure of the state govt to benefit the Govt employees”, said Deb.

It’s worthy to mention here that earlier in a shocking revelation it was known that the one and only CPI-M long ruling state Tripura’s GDP growth rate is only 7 %, which is the lowest in the whole country even worse than Jharkhand and any  North East State.

Whereas during the 11thConvention of Tripura Upajaiti Karmachari Committee Tripura CM gave a one  & half hours long speech to teach how to develop the economy of the country and how to increase the country made source of income on the same day a national BJP leader Shruti Bangaru Laxmi told Tripura media that Tripura’s actual growth in domestic product is only 7 % as per central govt’s data, which has been identified as the lowest GBP growth rate in a country.
