AGARTALA, Jan 12 (TIWN): The Capital city faced much chaos when a major clash occurred between the local auto drivers and traffic police on Friday afternoon at Agartala. Whereas long lectures are giving at every road corners following the road safety week ongoing, on the other hand when it comes for action, the traffic police becomes helpless here. Reportedly, the chaos occurred regarding a permit law in Agartala City reserved for auto drivers for few particular spots. According to traffic police, the auto drivers from Salbagan and other places breaking the rule and all instructions given to them, they are coming to other areas. But according to the drivers only the CITU backed auto drivers are given the proper placement whereas for the driver who do not belong to CITU, they are shifted to little bit backward areas, where business goes very low. Such incidents occurred earlier times also but the problem was never brought to any solution by traffic dept. It’s worthy to mention here that CITU goons who have no control on their behavior, have turned the lives of common auto drivers miserable in Tripura.

On December 30 protesting against the CITU led unruly regime undergoing on Tripura and the continuous violation of consumers rights, labour rights, drivers rights under them, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) placed deputation to GB Outpost OC.

Apart from Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, to give a major jolt to the traditional goondaraj of CITU & other Red-Unions, Trinamool Congress has introduced a new labour union in Tripura to beat the Dadagiri on passengers. In a press meet held at Agartala press club TMC leader of labour union Subendu Chakraborty said, “In Tripura traditionally labour union means CITU & other left front backed unions, who under the shelter of left front party is pursuing their Goondaraj in Tripura since 23 years”. CITU who are not abide by any laws in state, never protests against any newly launched law in state, said Chakraborty.

Apart from that daily traffic jam has become an everyday issue.

Considering the construction of fly-over work which undergoing slowly at Battala-Bordowali area fueled by traffic dept’s failure to manage the jam everyday lives are being disrupted here in Agartala. On the other hand accident rates are also increasing day by day. However, with the chaos created at Kaman Chowmuhani the situation became more critical and all due to the lack of control led by the Traffic Dept here.
