AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): The Road Safety Week-2017 has kicked off in Tripura on Monday.
In the main inaugural programme held at Agartala Swami Vivekananda Stadium.
Transport Minister Manik Dey, DGP K Nagraj, Principal Secretary Sriram Tarnikanti, Transport Secretary Samarjit Bhowmik, AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha, S R Das, SP Traffic, SP West Abhijit Saptarshi remained present on that occasion.
The programme began with Transport Minister’s inspection of parade at that stadium. Then the Transport Minister lighted the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
Principal Secretary Sriram Tarnikanti said, “The traffic rules must be more tough so that the number of accidents decreases”.
DGP K Nagraj however said that Tripura’s accidents numbers are decreasing with the passage of year. He further stressed to decrease more number of accidents here.
