AGARTALA, Dec 20 (TIWN): Finally, Tripura’s Capital City has hanged with ‘No-Petrol’ sign across its petrol pumps, even though the Food Dept. informed massive fuel importing via Dharmanagar-Agartala road. On Tuesday, each and every petrol pumps in Agartala went dry since the morning whereas many bikes left handicapped due to ‘no fuel’ inside them. Till, Monday after 1000 people’s long rows atleast the bikers could pour their tanks with petrol, but on Tuesday, that chance also withdrawn as the petrol dealers simply hanged ‘No-Petrol’ signs before their pumps. Just on Sunday as per Food Dept’s information to diminish the ongoing petrol crisis 332 KL petrol arrived at Agartala. Apart from petrol 780 KL Diesel also has arrived here. But after all these huge petrol crisis has occupied the whole Capital City; and other subdivisions are also now undergoing the same situation.

The ongoing petrol crisis has created more hurdles for vehicular amidst demonetization, TIWN reported.

At the beginning the Food Dept said that due to the chaos going at Manipur and Nagaland the problem has increased here more. At the same time a machinery problem has occurred at Guwahati’s Betkuchitstha oil-centre which has led the situation further more complicated. But before the problem at Guwahati had started, the petrol crisis was occurring in Tripura very frequently and when an issue has been found now, the ‘petrol crisis’ has raised its head, with selling of petrol at high cost in black-markets.

At Durga Bari petrol pump talking to a consumer named Subrata Das, who is also a banker he said to TIWN Correspondent, “Petrol crisis here may happen any time and it has no guarantee, when it comes. How much protest common people can make ? Now we are habituated with standing in long lines. But today there is no chance for long lines also as not a single pump is providing petrol”.

Thus it seems that another dry-era to kick off in Tripura regarding petrol crisis, as the Govt never checks the increasing fuel black-marketing in state. At Dharmanagar massive fuel theft is going on although many news, protest held regarding petrol theft at there. But traditionally fuel theft is going on at there since yrs and yrs and police remained as just a mute spectator.
