AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): While there was a marginal improvement in performance, there was 1 percent decrease in the number of students who appeared for the Madhyamik (Class X) examinations of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education as was revealed when the results were announced here on Thursday.
A total of 45389 students appeared at the exams this year – a decrease of 459 students from last year's figures of 45848. While the overall pass percentage this year was 68.78, it improved by 2 per cent from the previous year's figures.
The boys performed better than the girls with a difference of over 4 per cent. While the pass percentage among boys was 70.84 this year, 66.56 per cent girls sailed through the exams. However, the girls showed a marginal improvement in their performance by bettering last year's pass percentage by more than one per cent.
According to Board officials, 14 students fared well in mathematics with all scoring 100 marks in the subject. 118 schools registered 100 percent success and 16 schools registered 100 percent failure. Among the district South Tripura registered highest percentage (82.47 %) and Khowai district registered lowest percentage (55.73 %)
