AGARTALA, Aug 20 (TIWN): With the initiative of Passport Seva laghu Kendra, a passport mela was organised on Saturday at PSK where 150 applicants were attended on this day.
Applicants were requested to arrive with Application reference number sheet, along with necessary documents including identity proof, adders proof, school certificates and other documents.
Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), the first in Tripura, was inaugurated by Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Bhanu Lal Saha \.
The much awaited mini Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Agartala was finally inaugurated on December 31st by Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Bhanu Lal Saha in presence of other dignitaries in Sukanta academy.
It is to be mentioned here that the scheduled of inauguration was modified as the Minister of state for External Affairs (MEA) of state, V K Singh’s arrival was cancelled due to some unknown reasons.
It may be recalled here that following increasing demand of passport over the years, the state government has been demanding a passport facilitation centre with competent officer to deal with the cases and expedite issuance of passport.
However, MEA has signed a lease agreement with National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) on August 1, 2015 last in Agartala for setting up of PSK and with the request of the ministry.
The woes of the common people have finally come to end with the inauguration of the PSK at Tripura which is now expected to provide smooth process of making passports.
