TET exam to be conducted on September 25: Application submission to begin from Wednesday

AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN):Tripura is all set to conduct the second TET examination in the state on September 25 for paper I and Paper II. According to the notification, the candidates will submit their online application between August 3 and August 17.

However, the applications would be finalised on August 17 and the last date for submission is August 22.

The interested candidates can apply for the examination form on the Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board website thatiswww.trb.tripura.gov.in.

 According to the NCTE guidelines passing the TET is compulsory. The TET examination will be in two sections - Paper 1 for teacher’s upto class five and Paper 2 upto class eight. In each paper there shall be examination in six sections and the total mark of 150 and to qualify the candidate has to get at least 60 percent mark.  TET pass certificate shall be valid for seven years and it is not mandatory that if anyone passes the TET examination shall be entitled to get a job but they shall be getting preference and according to the mark scored.

The minimum qualification to sit for the TET examination in primary teacher is that the candidate should have more than 50 percent in the higher secondary exam along with two years diploma in elementary education pass certificate. For upper primary TET the minimum qualification is graduate and diploma in elementary education.

State Government conducted the first TET examination for recruitment of school teachers on December last year, after prolonged six years of implementation of the Right to Education Act 2009. Tripura TET is for the candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary (class I -V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Tripura.
