KAMALPUR, July 12 (TIWN): Adding to the list of the continuous crime against women in the state, another incident of rape took place here at Kamalpur last evening. Police nabbed the culprit and booked him under a case. The incident, however, brewed resentment among the locale.

According to the police, the five years old daughter of Samir Deb of West Halhali was raped by the neighbouring boy Goutam Namasudra (23) last evening around 5 pm. He raped her in the nearby jungle of his house forcibly.

Then the culprit left her there and escaped. In the meanwhile, the anxious parents started vigorous search for their baby girl. Then they found her in devastated condition around 9 pm. She disclosed everything to her parents and she was immediately brought to the BSM Hospital.

According to the complaint of the parents of the victim girl, police registered a case numbered 68/2016 under section 376 of IPC and 4 of POCSO Act. This morning police succeeded to nab the culprit Goutam and would produce before the Court.
