AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): Tripura reeling under acute crisis of petrol, diesel since 4 months but helicopter-totting Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his fat IAS officials are yet to rattle up their slumbers to fix Tripura’s pathetic ‘Civil Supplies’ Dept. Food & Civil Supplies Director Soumitra Banerjee, Secretary S.K.Rakesh yet to convene a press meet announce State Govt’s response to this massive crisis. Apart from lameduck claim of 50 days buffer stock of fuel in state, nothing substantial steps were taken to fix the crisis. Hapless people for the third time had blocked the road at Motorstand on Sunday morning in demand of petrol in front of Motorstand petrol outlets. Petrol crisis continues to haunt the common mass of the state due to the dilapidated condition of the NH44. It is to be mentioned here that the consumers on Sunday has hit the state following the immense crisis of petrol in the state.As regular vehicle movement is yet to begin smoothly on the crippled NH-44, state is facing acute crisis of petrol in the state.

Due to failure of intervention from the state government the consumers has hit the road due to lack of supply of petrol.Agitated consumers on Sunday staged road blockade and said it is insane situation that there is no petrol supply in the state.

Sudden crisis of petrol in the state with the blockade of the NH44 due to immovable condition of the road, common man are paying for it today.

 Almost all the petrol pumps of Agartala city along with the petrol pumps at the sub-divisions were found hanging ‘No Petrol’ board. Long queue was witnessed in front of the petrol pumps in the several petrol pumps of the state.

Long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala. Meanwhile, petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.

Taking the advantage the opportunist are fully utilizing the scarcity by selling the petrol by black marketing. The petrol dealers of the State were emerging in a new trend to earn more money through black marketing which causes artificial petrol crisis in the State.

NH-44 which is known as lifeline of landlocked Tripura has been extensively damaged due to State PWD’s negligence, resulting petrol/ diesel crisis inside the state.
