AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): Just after BSF 159th Btl had seized 1 kilo 365 gram Brown Sugar from Silchar-Agartala train at Panisagar on Thrusday, Silchar police have nabbed 4 culprits from Mizoram-Silchar border for transporting drugs to Tripura & other Northeastern states. Along with the arrested smugglers, Police also recovered 8 syringes of drug samples, 102 blank syringes, 340 gram of brown sugar and Rs. 8,000/-. The name of the 4 drug smugglers are : 1) Amanyaual (23), 2) Richard Lalbe Moughta (24), 3) Laldin Jera (24), 4) Mingchung Nanga (27). They were nabbed from BhajaBazar, Silchar Mizoram Border areas. These four young criminals were engaged in transporting drugs via a train on Thursday to Tripura.

Resentment have been brewing among the locals of Dharmanagar that the subdivision is becoming a safe corridor for all kinds of criminal mafia, narcotics smuggling, Bangladesh Islamic terrorists. Phensedyl and Corex, Arms are transported daily via NFR trains. 

On Thursday BSF 159th btn had recovered 1 kilo and 365 gram of Brown Sugar worth Rs 1.5crores from Silchar-Agartala train.

Reportedly, the Silchar-Agartala train bearing number : 05665 had reached till Panisagar at 5 PM on Thursday when BSF discovered huge brown sugar confinement in train. 

BSF 159th Btn headed by BSF Commandant Kuljit Singh getting informed via a secret source rushed to the spot and recovered the brown sugar packets, which were placed inside the train and almost were to enter Tripura’s mainland for sale.

However, no smugglers was nabbed on Trusday as according to BSF, the Brown Sugar was placed inside the train in such a way that the smuggler would come and take it secretly. There was no scene of hand-to-hand exchange between smugglers. However, Silchar police had nabbed 4 persons immediately and they are to be produced before the court on Friday.
