RAGNA Indo-Bangla BOP (North Tripura), July 7 (TIWN): As Eid increased the chances of Bangladesh border cattle smuggling, illegal intrusions and violent-incidents, thus security has been tightened further across every Indo-Bangla border outposts. But as four people were killed on Bangladesh's largest Eid congregation -Sholakia Ground in Kishoreganj district, just before prayers began, so vigilance has been further increased at Indo-Bangla border areas across the state. Reportedly, witnesses said over 300,000 Muslims, who had gathered at Sholakia to offer the Eid prayers, were trapped in the middle of sporadic gunshots being fired between cops and the attacker militants.The blasts follow the deadliest terror attack in Bangladesh on July 1, the killing of 20 hostages, mostly foreigners, at an upscale restaurant in the heart of the capital’s diplomatic enclave. Although state has geared up to celebrate Eid, but tension prevails in every border areas as the neighboring country being attacked again by the HUJI, JMB Islamic fundamentalists. Eid although an occasion for celebration, but the terrorists however choose, these religious occasions for tools of violence.

 However with implementation of section 144 and high red alerts, there is no reports of unwanted incidents till now, reported  as per the report. 

Talking to TIWN correspondent a Senior BSF official said due to the Eid celebration, from Thursday evening the tension has been increased in Tripura’s border areas as the neighboring country is already suffering from Muslim fundamentalists’ attacks.

High chances of violence in Tripura border areas and Muslim populated areas are there. Already  high alerts are on the Indo-Bangla border of Tripura, along with four other states : Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya and Mizoram following the terrific attacks in Dhaka.

India and Bangladesh share a 4,096 km-long international border with 5  states. West Bengal (2,217 km), Tripura(856km), Meghalaya(443km), Assam(262km) and Mizoram(180km).

As there is Eid ceremony ahead, there will be a strict vigil on the border, ensured Tripura CM, BSF and Police. But after  Friday’s attack in Bangladesh, they have further increased the vigil along the border, said sources. 

However, this red alert is not only for Eid occasion, but it was started from July 3 following the riot at Bangladesh and killing of Hindus by Fundamentalists at that neighboring country, Tripura Govt. as per the instruction of Home Minister Rajnath Sing ordered for high vigilance just one day before Eid ceremony.

Since then the Border Security Force (BSF) has increased vigil along the Indo-Bangla border in the backdrop of the terror attack in Dhaka and has launched special operations.

TIWN correspondent visited Yakubnagar border area, Ragna BOP where patrolling was held by BSF Jawans to ensure the peace and to prevail any unwanted incident and to stop any Terrorist intrusion inside the state.

TIWN Dharmanagar correspondent said, BSF Jawans on duty at Indo-Bangla Border are constantly on work, as Red alert have been implemented in borders across the state.

Police official sources further said that as it is the festival season of Eid, there will be a strict vigil on the border. But after last Friday’s attack in Bangladesh, they have further increased the vigil along the border.

Apart from Tripura in many states which are lined by Bangladesh have issued high alerts and special operations are on there. BSF is also in touch with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and is keeping a close eye on the situation.

It’s worthy to mention here that Tripura border area’s public are in panic as everyday people are dying at Bangladesh out of communal clashes initiates by Muslim fundamentalists. As Tripura is Hindu populated state, sharing the land with Muslim and other Minorities so the sensitive border areas now under strict observation of BSF Jawans with the aim to maintain the ‘Peace’ of the state.
