AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): Commercial train and National Highway, in both ways Tripura is handicapped now. There is no sign of progress in next 20 days also in both the transport system.

The 220 km rail-track at Migrendicia for which engineers had borrowed from other states to get the work done fast, sources said that the communication via this rail-link is not possible before 2 months. But the delaying of 220 mtr Rail track at Maigrendisa (Assam)  which is halting Tripura Rail Service has been further canceled to repair in an urgent basis and as alternative more 92 km rail track will be set from Lumbding-Silchar for further communication and BG Freight service.

,Although NFR GM H K Jaggi had ordered to complete tracks within July 12, but the alternative rail-link is covering 92 km and thus clouds are hovering on sky about the commencement of freight train in Tripura.

On the other hand, the state is suffering from acute crisis of fuel, food and essential commodities. Businessmen are alos facing hard time to manage their business. Talking to the shop-keeper he mentioned, presently variety of items are very less in state, as NH-44 has been almost closed.

NH-44’s pathetic condition leading the continuous fuel crisis into the state and the petrol pumps are displaying the sign of ‘No Petrol’ hanging in front of the major petrol pumps in Agartala city.

The LPG crisis has also hit the market already. Although atleast 50 bullets started for Tripura, but in the middle of the road, many have been paused due to the pathetic condition of NH-44, resulting acute LPG crisis in state. In black market the rate has gone to 1,200-1500/-.

On the other hand, the ongoing re-tacking work at Migrendicia is no way possible to complete within next 7 days, says NFR officials. As the BG express train service in Tripura is delaying as full track has been removed from many parts of Assam area including Migrendicia, (Assam)----so Govt. is sorting out the problem by finding out a new way with 92 km rail-line.

But clouds still remains about the commencement of Freight train from July/ August.

However, Tripura Govt. has announced about the importing of various items via Bangladesh Ashuganj port but this is a time-killing issue, as last time it took 15 days to reach steels in Tripura via Ashuganj port.

The trucks which reached in Tripura’s Akhaura check post on June 19 at around 5 pm directly from Bangladesh’s Ashuganj river port. with Rs. 3.5 crores iron steel importing—has started on June 3. So it took 15 days time for delivery. Moreover, the Ashuganj river port which is about 32 Kms from Agartala by road. –which also kills another hours.

So it seems that there is no permanent solution to the problem which the state is facing since last 20 days.
