AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): Whereas claims are tall with the promises of ‘Child-security’ by women commission of the state, minor girls are rape-victimized at Tripura everyday.

On Wednesday a workshop on child protection by Tripura govt. with the heading of ‘Child-protection’ is our responsibility at Pragna Bhawan.

Reportedly Tripura Women Comission chairperson Manika Dutta Roy inaugurated the programme. During her speech she said that ‘child protection’ is very important in society as they are the future generation of the country. As adults children have full rights to live with independence.

However, Manika Dutta Roy skipped the issues of frequent minor rape in state Tripura and police’s failure to nab the rapists.

State has recorded with atleast 3 minor rape cases in the last week. But Tripura police has remained disable to arrest all of the rapists, creating huge amount of resentments among the public.

If one counts it shows that------- if official records of rapes says that in 10 days, 3 minors had been raped then Tripura faces 4x3=12 minor rape cases per month and 12x12=144 minor rapes in a year.

But still Tripura is considered as a peaceful state as per the ruling party’s claim.

Although number of women police stations are increasing but they have been remained without any affect to the crimes.
