Kamalpur: Administration raided shops and ice-cream factories, Seized huge quantity grocery, drinks and junk foods

KAMALPUR, April 27 (TIWN): After a long pause and leisure, the administration led by DCM Pradip Debbarma broke the shuttle and grounded on reality last evening. And the team conducted raids in different shops and ice-cream factories. The team conducted raids in almost 15 shops at Kamalpur and Manikbhandar market area. During that raid, the team seized huge quantity of expired soft drinks, junk foods and grocery items.

The team seized 106 packets of biscuits, 167 packets of chips, 82 packets of spices, 360 packets of gutkha, 20 packets of chocolates and 10 bottles of edible oils.

Each seized items were of branded companies which the commoners used without any hesitation. And the merchants probably took this chance. Moreover, the team raided in two ice-cream factories where they seized expired chemicals, preservatives and colors. They instructed the factories to stop producing ice-creams until further order.

The leader of the team DCM Pradip Debbarma expressed his anguish as the local media not followed the raid with sincere presence.

It might be mentioned in this context that, the civil administration at Kamalpur initiated such raids for the first time in memorable span of time. Further, the continuation of the raid also remained under scanner to the commoners.
