AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Yet on another daring attempt the unruly auto drivers on Monday staged road blockade at Kaman Chowmuhani during office hours giving tough time to the common people travelling through the route. Talking to TIWN correspondent, SP Traffic Smriti Ranjan Das said that he road blockade was shaped after a traffic man nabbed one auto driver for plying on the Kaman Chowmuhani route without any permit for the same route. He further said that the auto driver had permit for Airport road but he was carrying passenger on the Kaman Chomuhani road which triggered resentment. When the traffic man stopped him and asked for his route permit he failed to show his permit for Kaman chowmuhani route which further sparked off clash and the drivers staged road blockade. The suspension of the vehicles has caused problem for the people, as it was the working hour. It is to be mentioned here that the traffic crew who was on duty at Kaman chowmuhani nabbed one auto driver for some illegal documentation of the vehicle.

Locals complained that the stopping of vehicles in the working hour has created problem for the people.On one hand, where the construction work of the fly-over creates huge traffic jam at the office hour, the party rallies are adding chaos in the capital.

Later the agitated the auto driver along with other staged road blockade at kaman chowmuhani blocking the movement of all vehicles including school bus.

The blockade continued for more than one hour.

Misusing the power CITU backed auto drivers are exploiting the common people with overloading of passengers, charging extra fares, misbehaving with the commuters, is all that happening in and around the state.

Several auto drivers carry four to six passengers on sharing system to earn more money. However, it is against the law and also hazardous but no action.

As per the direction all the drivers to paste the point to point fare rate chart in their auto but hardly some counting drivers has pasted  the rate chart in their autos. Interestingly, those who have pasted the point-to-point rate chart it is just for the namesake and none of them has effectively implemented the fare of the rate chart and are continuously demanding hiked fare from the passengers.

Even if some passengers asked the auto drivers to keep the fare as per the point -to-point fare the drivers harasses the passengers and misbehaves with them.

After so many days of the direction of the HC none of the direction is followed by the CITU backed auto drivers in the Agartala city.  Day after day the auto drivers are harassing the passengers with their misrule but no action is taken against them.
