Road mishap claims one school teacher at Agartala city

AGARTALA, April 16 (TIWN): Even after implementations of thousands of measures, road accidents are on a rise but if drivers are not conscious and do not act in a responsible manner, the number of road accidents cannot go down.

Road accidents-leading to death and injuries has become a regular stuff. Recently in a road mishap on Saturday one middle aged school teacher died on the spot at Agartala.

The incidents took place on Saturday morning at Agartala Ladhua area and the left the victim died on the spot triggering panic all across the city.

The victim is identified as Bishnupada Gope who was a teacher of Ranirbazar Ratan Nagar School.

Most traffic accidents are the product of several factors, the probability of accidents can be reduced in a number of different ways. There is no doubt that the following activities have prevented the increase in accidents that would normally result from increases in traffic density.

There are numbers of things that other driver’s do that can be extremely irritating and dangerous.  Bad Tailgating, poor lane discipline, not indicating and undertaking are just a few of the bad habits that frequently and are very annoying.  Aside from the inconvenience to other road users, this kind of inconsiderate driving is also very dangerous.

It is to be mentioned here that the road was constructed especially for a free movement of the heavy vehicles. But recently road had taken a bad shape turning terrible for the heavy as well as small vehicles to travel.

The road is laying in deplorable condition and has not been repaired for a long time.

Lack of parking place, poor awareness among locals and defunct signal posts have led to a spurt in accident related cases in different parts of Tripura including the Agartala city. The interiors of the state have no proper parking for vehicles. The pedestrians are also at risk of getting mowed down by speeding vehicles. The traffic and the police personnel are not taking any step to keep a tab on the speed limits of vehicles other than staging a barricade at some parts to nab the two-wheeler drivers who are not using helmets.

In the state recently, exposure to potential road traffic injury has increased largely because of rash driving, coupled with poor road conditions, rapid population growth, lack of safety features in cars, crowded roads, poor road maintenance, and lack of police enforcement.

Day after day the road accidents are raising in an alarming rate and because of the lack of maintenance of the road for a long period of time is leading the travellers to face several hurdles.
