Earthquake damage in railway stations : patients rushed out of GB hospital, tension prevails in Agartala aftershocks

AGARTALA, April 14 (TIWN) : Tripura alongwith Assam, Bengal, northeast reported major damages with the earthquake jolts on Wednesday evening. Reportedly, the newly made Kadamtala Rail station has been damaged in many parts including the walls and railway tracks. However, not so far life-loss has been yet reported.

At Udaipur Jagannath Temple premises, there is an slate stone made old structure, which lacked maintenance since years, has been damaged in some parts.

Patients, relatives,staff at GB Hospital rushed towards exists creating pandorum across the hospital.

 Within minuts after earthquake, people came out of homes, hospitals, shopping malls, offices and shops.

 For hours people were found stranded on the road as the earthquake shook twice reportedly.

 At Maharani Bridge at Udaipur, few cracks has been visible and in many households similar losses occurred, which shows the gravity of the incident.

 It’s to be mentioned here that  with the multiple earth quakes in NE India tension has gripped the people here more. The tension grew more when mobile communication was halted for a while.

Power gone in many places which increased the turmoil at 7.20 pm on Wedenesday at Tripura.

However, damage situation yet to be known in deatils after the quake which occurred at a depth of 135 km below the earth’s surface in the Myanmar-India border region.
