AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN) : Although the central govt. has asked the Tripura Govt. to follow the recruitment laws but govt. here is strict not to follow the pay scale of the central govt.
After the high court order to the Tripura Govt. to fill up the vacancies (as per the verdict on May 7, 2014 where 10,323 teachers were terminated due to the violation of job recruitment policy) govt. decided to take TET exam.
Much after doldrums of the state govt. atlast in 2016, the first ever TET Examination was held in Tripura but it resulted in poor passing percentage. In primary level the passing percentage was only 4 percent. Among 306 candidates only 13 students could qualify the test. As a result in the month of June / July the state govt. is taking another TET Examination to fill up the vacancies.
However, the candidates qualified for senior basic teachers will be given posting soon.
But surprisingly, Govt. has announced that for the first 5 years of the job the teachers will only get their salaries in fixed scale basis. After 5 years the candidates will receive their full salaries.
It’s to be mentioned here that as per fixed scale basic, the employees get only the one third of the salary in compare with the other state’s employees.
As the employees get the basic of the salary for 5 years, they used to receive around Rs. 5000/- only in primary level, whereas as per the central govt. scale they would get Rs. 15,000/-
However, those who are in senior basic level they get around 8000/- per month for the first 5 years.
Question arises, is it enough for a person to run his family with Rs. 5000 per month?
But Tripura govt. is strict to deprive its govt. employees as far as possible.
