Lumding/Agartala, April 2 (TIWN): Silchar/Agartala remained virtually cut-off from the rest of the country, thanks to the Barak Valley & Tripura Passenger agitation which had a cascading effect on rail and road links across NE India. Most of the Barak & Tripura passenger facing problem to have their reservation seats in the Train after Army personal forcefully acquire common passenger seats.
More than 4 trains remained affected even as 800 agitators block lumding railway station , said a Railways spokesman.
Main railway routes touching Chandighar — Guwhati-Bihar- Delhi - Kolkatta, remained shut. Mail or Express trains like Bhramputra,Nagaland,Katchar & Abhod Assam were hit. NE railways reported a huge number of passengers stranded at Lumding station since the route has been shut due to the stir.
