AGARTALA, April 1 (TIWN): Bijoy Dey and Mani Biswas on Friday added another golden feather to the state after they bagged two gold medals at 4th International Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press Championship held from March 25 to 28 at Bangkok.

The 4th International Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press Championship were held from March 25 to 28 at Bangkok.

Altogether 160 competitors from eight countries competed in 3 different weight categories in both women’s and men’s group.

L Pushpa Devi competing in the 72 kg group and Th Bidyarani Devi in the 46 kg group clinched 2 gold medals each while M Gyanchand Luwang (52 kg) gave India the third gold medal.

Five gold and two bronze medals from Host Thailand were adjudged the runners up.

It is to be mentioned here that the two players from Tripura identified as Bijoy Dey and Mani Biswas bagged gold medal in the competition adding another golden moment for Tripura.

However, both of them were received from Agartala airport along with their coach Tapan Acharjee .

The trio arrived at Agartala airport and were given a grand welcome and were also felicitated. However, a rally was also organised from Agartala airport which moved across several parts of the city.

The program was organised by All Tripura strength Lifting association.
