AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Vote cast to the much talked village committee election is all set begin from Wednesday morning at 1262 polling stations.
The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Village Council elections are slated to be on Wednesday. The polling will start at 8 AM and will be continued till 4 PM as per the schedule.
The polling personnel’s appointed for the ensuing village committee election slated to be held on February 24 have already left for their respective station on Tuesday morning.
It is to be mentioned here that all the appointed polling personnel who are given the responsibility to conduct the election and will supervise the arrangements at the polling station.
This decision was taken to conduct an error free election in the state.
It is to be mentioned here that Police officers and teachers of state schools who are appointed as the polling personnel’s in the VC election, all have already cast their vote through postal ballot.
The vote cast for the election will begin from Wednesday morning at the polling stations.
However, the campaigning for the village committee election ended peacefully on Monday evening as per the rules.
Apart, Central paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain strict security arrangements during VC election.
The Union home ministry has deployed 12 companies of paramilitary forces for strict security during the elections which is scheduled to be held on February 24 to 587 village committees under the Tripura tribal autonomous district council areas.
However, the central paramilitary forces, including the CRPF and BSF, would be backed by police and the Tripura State Rifles (TSR).
All the political parties have nominated their candidates to contest the election. Like the municipal election the ruling party has once again nominated new faces to fight the election in the state.
Countdown begins for the much propagated Village committee election scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
