Water scarcity hits interior parts of state

AGARTALA, Feb 13 (TIWN): Despite of several complaints regarding water scarcity made by the locals of the interiors part of the state, the concern authority is least bothered to look in to the situation.

Reportedly, scarcity has hits the area of Killa Block, Nittya Bazar, Darjeeling Bari, Thelakong and Deowan Bari along with others.

Further, during the monsoon season the population of the area suffers from various water borne diseases. Besides, the people of under Kumarghat Municipal Area are also suffering from acute water crisis.

However, during the dry season where the people faces acute water scarcity in the area, during the monsoon season the same area are dominated by water borne diseases.

People in various interior parts are facing pathetic condition in the area.

The interior parts of Sonamura are massively hit with acute water crisis. Moreover, in few areas the supply of water has become difficult due to negligence of operators and some local persons despite both water and machine.

Despite of placing demands for several time, yet today no initiatives has been taken by the departments.

Presently the people of the state are experiencing serious difficulties in accessing water either from the public or private supply sources.

However, this is not only the condition of these villages but also of various others.

However, where the ministerial authority claims that the state is developing day by day, on the other hand people in various interior parts of the state are yet suffering from alleged negligence.

According to the report, on one hand where the state government has been distributing huge number of tube wells and various equipment to the needy people to get access to clean drinking, on the other hand women had to walk several kilometres to collect a bucket of water that too contaminated.

The women residing in the far-flung areas carry 4 to 5 pots full of water over their head covering huge distance to meet the basic need of their family. Bearing the burden of walking miles in search of water goes to vain when the families comes under the grip of water borne diseases.
