AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): The deadline for withdrawal of nominations for Village Committee elections has been observed on Monday.
It is to be mentioned here that the last day of the submission of nomination papers of the candidates for ensuing Village Council elections has been observed on February 5.
However, the Village committee election has been scheduled to be held on February 24 and the counting of votes is expected to be conducted on February 27.
Reportedly, altogether 7, 68,404 voters which includes 3, 89,292 male and 3, 79,112 female is expected to cast their votes in 1451 polling stations.
Besides, the scrutiny of the submitted nomination papers is under progress and the candidates who are willing to withdraw their nomination papers can withdraw it by Monday.
However, it has been mentioned that preparation is going on in full-fledged manner.
Parties are holding meeting in the various interior parts of the state with an aim to grab the seats in the upcoming election. It is to be mentioned Left Front Party has begin their campaigning for the village election long back.
It is to be mentioned here that the last date of withdrawal of candidature is on February 8. However, the counting of votes will commence on February 27. Besides, it has been mentioned that the election procedures to be complete by March 7.
However, election campaign has gained full momentum and the political parties are campaigning in full fledged.
It is to be mentioned here that the political Parties are holding meeting in the various interior parts of the state with an aim to grab the seats in the upcoming election and the Left Front Party has begin their campaigning for the village election long back.
The TTAADC governs two-thirds of Tripura's 10,492 square km area. Date of issue of nomination by the SEC was on 29th January, 2016. 5th February is the last date of making nomination. Scrutiny will be done on February 6. Last date of withdrawal of candidature will be done on 8th February.
