AGARTALA, Feb 7 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday inaugurated a new building of Tripura State Co-Operative Bank at Post Office Choumuhani.
The building was inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the presence of Minister for Co-operation Khagendra Jamatia, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dr. Prafullajit Sinha and others.
Mentioning about the establishment, the dignitaries stated that Tripura State Cooperative Bank Limited (TSCB) was established in the year 1957 on January 21.
The bank has now 63 branches altogether with the head office in the state. Besides, against the sanctioned strength of total 439, altogether 336 are being employed as on 31.3.15.
It is to be mentioned here that that bank has a total customer of 8, 40, 119 with paid up share capital of Rs. 24.69 crores of which the contribution of the State Government is Rs. 8.12 crores constituting 32.88 percent.
Detailing about the total business of the bank, it has been mentioned that the business has stood at Rs. 3082.12 crores till January 31, 2016.
Besides, the total deposit of the bank has stood at Rs. 1918.93 crores till January 31, 2016 and the total advance of the bank has stood at Rs. 1163.19 crores till January 31, 2016.
It is to be mentioned here that the total priority sector advance by the bank is Rs. 845.67 Crores till January 31, 2016 which constitutes 72.70 percent of total advance of the bank.
Besides, the total advance to agriculture sector by the bank is Rs. 672.02 crores till January 31, 2016 constituting 57.77 percent of total advance. The bank has issued 82073 Kisan Credit Card amounting Rs. 108.58 crores till January 31, 2016.
On the other hand, the bank has so far disbursed Rs. 34.95 crores to a total of 8364 numbers of SHGs up to January 31.
It has been mentioned that out of 261 LAMPS/ PACS, 247 societies received the Revival Package amounting Rs. 45.53 crores under Vaidyanathan package. The Bank also paid the interest to the tune of Rs. 12.90 crores.
