AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): A joint recce between the two border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh i.e BSF and BGB was carried out from 11th to 15th January 2016 in various parts of the bordering area of Tripura in connection with establishment of new BGB BOPs in Chittagong Hill Tracts. The BGB recce team led by Col Sajjad Hossain, Sector Commander, BGB Khagrachari comprised of five officers and two JCOs. On the other side BSF delegation was led by Sh D K Sharma, DIG, Sector BSF Panisagar , and Sh Rajeev Sinha, DIG, Sector BSF Teliamura. On 15th January 2016, after completion of the recce in respective areas, a meeting was held at the conference hall of Frontier HQ, Salbagan and joint record of discussion were exchanged.
At the end, Sh J B Sangwan, Inspector General, BSF Tripura Frontier, addressed the meeting and conveyed thanks to the BGB delegation for putting so much effort to make the Chittagong Hill Tracts secure from insurgency and expressed hope that the Bangladesh delegation members had a comfortable and memorable stay in India during the conduct of entire recce. He also emphasized upon the security aspect to be kept in mind during the progress of construction work of BGB BOPs in near future. He said that the joint recce has taken BSF-BGB relations to a different level and also assured BSF cooperation to BGB in future and expressed his hope to start-up the construction work very soon.
