UDAIPUR, Jan 16 (TIWN): In a tragic incident, a body of an one year old boy was recovered from a pond on Saturday morning at Basanta Nagar area under Kakrabon police station of Udaipur sub-division.

The deceased is identified as Sayan Saha, son of Bapan saha resident of Basanta Nagar area under Kakrabon police station.

Reportedly the incident took place on Saturday morning when a localite saw a body floating in the bank of the pond. Taking a close look at the body, the localite recovered that it is the body of the Sayan Saha, the baby boy who went missing from his home on Friday evening.

However, the loacalite immediately informed the Kakrabon police station and got engaged in the recovery operation of the baby boy.

Getting alarm the police reached the spot along with the dog squad team and the recovered the body of the deceased from the pond and sent the body for post-mortem at Kakrabon hospital.

It is to be mentioned here that the family members of the deceased lodged missing diary on Friday with Kakraban police station after the boy went missing from his home.

The source in the Kakraban police confirmed that the boy was being killed as a result of the family dispute and was then thrown into the pond.

Police further said the boy went missing from his house, and even after conducting several search operation in different places the boy could not be recovered. However, with the recovery of the body serious panic sparked off in the area and a pall of gloom descended over the family members of the baby boy.

The dog squad team, along long with Udaipur SDPO Ratan Kumar Das, SP Saraswati R, and additional SP Tapan Debarma along with huge police force rushed to the spot.

However the body is handed over to the family members after conducting the post-mortem at Kakraban hospital. Police is further investigating the case.
