AGARTALA, Jan 12 (TIWN): The newly elected president of state BJP Biplab Deb was felicitated by state BJP wing on Tuesday at RS Bhawan in presence of the former state president of BJP sudindra Dasgupta.

The felicitation program was graced by Union Minister for railway Manoj Sinha, Tripura observer Sunil Deodar, and others.

Addressing the felicitation program Union Minister for railway Manoj Sinha said the BJP is the only party that can bring development to the entire northeast region.

He further said that the only party which can truly govern the state is BJP.

It is to be mentioned here that BJP Mahajan sampark observer Biplab Deb is appointed as the new president of the party.

Biplab Deb is the new president of the party because he carries lots of weight following his prolonged stay in Delhi. BJP will fight the next assembly polls under the leadership of Biplab Deb. the party got a RSS trained Biplab Deb who was born in Udaipur and has been educated from Delhi.

It is to be mentioned here that the party's central leadership was determined to replace incumbent state president Sudindra Dasgupta with an RSS-trained leader.

A senior RSS functionary, currently touring the interiors of Tripura, said on condition of anonymity that Biplab Deb, 42, an RSS-trained political activist who is currently based in Delhi, took over charge as the state president.

He originally belongs to Tripura and was born in Udaipur but he spent many years under RSS care outside his home state. Deb has a lot of political experience and had worked as personal assistant to former NDA minister and MP from Jamshedpur Rita Verma. He will be at the helm of state BJP in Tripura from now on.
