Tripura Assembly raises the issue of laying underground power cables : ground reality hardly shows any progress of the work

AGARTALA, Jan 12 (TIWN): The assembly session has become a platform to discuss the question answer round for the ruling and the opposition but from this session what does the common man has gain.

Issue on power supply, food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department, Law, statistics, jail, and many other is raised but nothing comes out as fruitful for the common man.

Opposition and the ruling party discuss on their point of view and places before the speaker but in the ground reality noting come visible for the common man.

The second day of the assembly raised the issue of underground laying of cable but still today there is no vigilance of any work progress.

However, it is worthy to mention here that during the year 2014, it was informed that the work has already launched and laying of cable is being completed in 50km stretch in the first phase. The so called ‘ambitious’ project of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (TSECL) is  still under bleak as the city commuters still at high risk due to the deplorable condition of the over head power line junk at the heart of the Tripura’s capital Agartala.

Is the duty of the opposition is to raise question in the assembly? When the issues are discussed in the assembly why there are no glimpse of any work progress in the reality.

The central government has sanctioned Rs 165 crore for Tripura to lay underground electricity cables. Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) was suppose to lay a wide underground network of high and low tension wires through towns with this fund, but still today no major progress.

However, Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy kicked off the winter session of the State Assembly on Friday at 11 a.m. at State Assembly House of Capital Complex.

As per the regulation the first day of the session began with the speech of Governor Tathagata Roy.

The assembly session will continue for more three days, and its a total 5 daylong session of assembly. It is expected that the assembly will table vote-on-account and place a new bill-‘Indian system of Medicine-2016.

It is to be mentioned here that this session is the first session of the current year.
