AGARTALA, Dec 21 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident a truck was put on fire by some unidentified miscreants at by pass road near Khayerpur on Sunday night triggering panic among the people.
Reportedly the incident took place on Sunday night when some unidentified miscreants has burnt the truck and flew away from the spot. Getting alarm about the incident, the localites reached the spot and informed the fire service crew for help.
However, by the time the fire service had reached the spot the localites had successfully brought the fire under control.
The truck bearing number AS01L5839 was parked at the side of the by-pass road near khayerpur for past 6 months and was left discarded for several months. However, after passage of months the truck was put on fire by some unidentified miscreants as alleged by the people.
The localities further said that there is no battery inside the truck so there is no possibility that fire broke out inside the truck accidentally, however it is assumed that some unidentified miscreants has put the truck on fire.
The localites also alleged that taking the advantage of the isolated place and darkness the miscreants have intentionally put the truck on fire and ran away from the spot.
The owner of the car is identified as Pradyut Pal resident of Ramnagar.
Three fire engines rushed to the spot and took a note of the fire incident and also brought the fire under control.
However, a complaint is also lodged with the Khayerpur out and police is further investigating the case.
So far nothing is assumed who is involved behind this incident.
Question arises why did the miscreant put the truck on fire?
The incident has triggered serious panic among the people and has demanded strict action against the accused.
