KAMALPUR, Dec 21 (TIWN): The work of embezzlement happy PWD(R&B) division of Kamalpur came under the scanner once again for violating the rules and conditions by a party-close contractor. And the violation happened not in any remote areas but in the Nagar Panchayat area regarding the construction of a culvert. The contractor, who is the brother-in-law of the former Chairperson and this term’s Vice Chairperson, happily violated conditions of constructions. And when the local people expressed their anguish, neither the department nor the party adopted any measure.

In the ward number 10 of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat, in front of the old house of a heavyweight local committee leader namely Harimadhab Sharma, a wooden bridge being shifted with a RCC culvert.

The work of 21, 00, 000 rupees had been rewarded to one local contractor Kamal Kar. Kamal is the brother-in-law of Nagar Panchayat Vice Chairperson Khana Das, who was the Chairperson the last time. Kamal Kar grabbed the work providing a bid of 2% below.

Now, the local people alleged that, Kamal used brick chips instead of stone chips in the construction. And as no supervision deployed there from the part of the PWD(R&B) Kamalpur division, hence the contractor got busy in violating the rules happily. Now, the local people knocked the matter to the party leadership also. But this failed to cast any impact.
