DM West monitors the work progress of flyover to contain the rising traffic jam

AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): With the rising issue of traffic jam at Battala Junction due to the flyover construction, DM west Millind Ramteke on Saturday along with Traffic SP Smriti ranjan das and other officials made a visit at the Battala junction to curb out measures for controlling the traffic chaos in the city.

To inspect the progress of the first ever flyover here in, 117 years old largest city of the Indian state of Tripura and also the second largest city in North-east India, Tripura capital Agartala, an inspection was held and the construction agency delegates also remained present.

The meet was held taking up the issue of containing traffic congestions, road clearance and other certain issues needs to be look after during the construction work. Talking to TIWN in this regard DM (West) Milind Ramteke said, the inspection was organised with an aim to take a stock of the situation of the construction work of the flyover here in Agartala and mainly to figure out measures to control the traffic chaos in the city.

Adding to that Ramteke said the administration needs to undertake several issues relating to the traffic system, road clearance, power lines and others related to the construction work as the people are facing trouble due to the massive traffic jam in the city.

However, the members of the construction agency also remain present.

It is to  be mentioned here that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar earlier this year laid the foundation stone pitched to complete the construction work of the first ever flyover in Tripura by 30 months. One of the leading construction company Nagarjun is entrusted to take up the construction of Rs. 250 crore sanctioned project work of building fly over which would first of its kind here in the state.

The flyover, which will begin from Drop Gate, would touch Fire Brigade Chowmuhani via Battala. A subway of the fly over will be created up to Melarmath. As per the layout of the project, the Banayan tree and the temple at Battala will be remained untouched by the fly over. The first ever 2-lane flyover in the capital city will lower the traffic jam by at least 40% to 45% and it will make a smooth fast track movement of the vehicles.
