CM Manik Sarkar inaugurates conference on Linking Prospective Food Entrepreneurs with Government Schemes and Markets

AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Saturday inaugurated a conference on “Linking Prospective Food Entrepreneurs with Government Schemes and Markets” at Pragna Bhawan. The daylong conference is organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India is association with ASSOCHAM, ICAR and other similar agencies organised the seminar on Linking Prospective Food Entrepreneurs with Government Schemes and Markets at 10 Am.

Tripura with its agro-friendly climate and agrarian roots has the potential to be a sunrise zone for food processing and other agro businesses.

Addressing the conference CM Manik Sarkar said that there is a need of creating facilities for primary and secondary processing in the region by infusion of proper technology. Proper marketing links between farmers and manufacturers have to be established, so also technological support. Agro-based economy has failed to flourish as it should due to limited utilisation of technological and innovation. Therefore, sensitising the budding and prospective entrepreneurs about government schemes and markets is a welcome move in Tripura.

The conference aims to inspire entrepreneur skills among farmers, Producers and youth of Tripura and link them with government funds.

While addressing the conference, Tripura CM lauded the efforts, saying it is amazing and a great joy to witness such graph of development in the state.

It is necessary to diagnose the problems in this region for providing an improved production and marketing environment and value-added economic benefits to the farmers through appropriate science and technological policies for various post-harvest functions in food processing industries.

Along with CM Manik Sarkar, Jitendra Chaudhury (Member of Parliament) Lok Sabha, Nagararaju Madirala, IAS, Secretary-Department of Industry and Commerce, Prof. Anjan Mukherjee, Pro Vice-Chancellor along with other dignitaries remained present in the program at Pragna Bhawan.
