In a wake situation, Tripura Section of Reserve Bank of India has organized the coin fair with an aim to meet the need of the people.

To overcome the situation, the RBI has directed banks to maintain adequate availability of coins for their customers.

It is usually found that shopkeepers, instead of returning change, pay back in kind like chocolates and toffees or even matchboxes to customers. Businessmen claim the reason behind is scarcity of coins in the market.
