AGARTALA, December 16 (TIWN): At last West Bengal government succumbed to the pressure of employees demand. Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee announced bonanza for state government employees including a new pay commission grade pay and a 10 percent DA ( Dearness Allowance) from 1st January,2016. After Mamata’s lucrative announcement, here in Tripura state government employees are hoping when will chief minister Manik Sarkar will fulfill their long standing demands. After long hue and cry for nine long years, Manik Sarkar announced grade pay as per central government scale from January last after 9 years deprivation by Communist Govt. The same grade pay was announced by the Centre and other states way back in 2006. Now also there is a gap of 45 percent DA between the employees of state and central government employees. Earlier West Bengal was figureed below in the list in giving DA, after the recent announcement now WB figures in top. The employees affiliated to the ruling party CPI-M like - TGEA and TGTEA always make long speeches that the centre is not giving them money. All states of North East pay DA very close to central DA, the gap is 6 percent. If they can give why lone CPI-M ruled state can not give ??? 70 percent of states of government employees are supporter of the ruling party. Every time, they blame the centre whether it is UPA, NDA and 13 Finance commission. Tripura CM is fooling Govt employees and depriving DA as in other states.
When Sarkar, declared the grade pay he assured that DA gap will be reduced with centre. But on July last, only 6 percent DA was announced by the government.
It shows, Manik Sarkar is not willing to fulfil the long standing demands of the employees and deprivation continues.
