AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): With the aim to bring forward some quintessential information related to Muktijuddha among the new generation, Governor of Tripura, Tathagata Roy is scheduled to inaugurate a one hour documentary film on titled, ‘Bangladesh Muktijuddhe Tripura’ on Wednesday at Sukanta Academy.
The film will be released on December 16 to mark the occasion of the Bijoy Diwas of Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Liberation War (Muktijuddho), also known as the Bangladesh War of Independence, was a revolution and armed conflict sparked by the rise of the Bengali nationalist and self-determination movement in East Pakistan and the 1971 Bangladesh genocide. It resulted in the independence of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The war began after the Pakistani military junta based in West Pakistan launched Operation Searchlight against the people of East Pakistan on the night of 25 March 1971. It pursued the systematic elimination of nationalist Bengali civilians, students, intelligentsia, religious minorities and armed personnel.
It is to be mention here that the documentary depicts Tripura’s role in the history of Muktijuddha of Bangladesh (liberation war of Bangladesh), including some information relating to role of Tripura.
The script of documentary was written by former director of ICA department, Subhash Das and fundamental information related to the liberation war was presented by Manas Pal. Among others director of documentary Raju Bhwomik and veteran journalist Manas Pal are also an important part of the documentary.
Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Bhanulal Saha will remain present as inaugurator and chief guest respectively. First Secretary and Mission head of Bangladesh Visa office Mohammad Manirujjaman and Prof. Mihir Deb would also grace the programme
