Kamalasagar Police fails to track the culprit accused of molestation

AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Even after 24-hour has passed, Kamalasagar Police yet to arrest the 30-year old molest accused.

Reportedly, the 21-year old girl has lodged complaint against the 30-year old molest accused.

According to the lodged complaint, the 30-year old neighbour namely Pradip Ghosh has tried to molest her when she went to graze the cow.

The incident is of Choudhury tilla under Kamalasagar. It has been mentioned that the victim demanded for strict action against the accused.

However, the police are further carrying out their investigation. The incident has prevailed tension among the residence of the area. The victim’s family demanded for strict action against the culprit.

Of late crime against women are increasing at an alarming rate which includes torture, rape, murder and various other illicit act on the women by miscreants and sometimes by the family members themselves.

Despite of several tall claims by the authority that the crime against women has decreased here in Tripura, day by day the crime against women are increasing.

Overall scenario of crime against women in Tripura is increasing at an alarming rate.

However, despite of increase in crime against woman at an alarming, the authority is playing role of silent spectator.

According to the Crimes in India 2013 report published by National Crimes Record Bureau (NCRB), Tripura had registered 1628 cases of various crimes against women during 2013. Of these cases of cruelty by husbands and other relatives were the highest at 827, followed by 233 cases of rape, 124 cases of kidnapping and abduction and 29 cases of dowry-related deaths.

It has been mentioned that to avoid human rights violations, in 2007, the state government constituted the Police Accountability Commission (PAC), with provisions to protect the human rights of the state's people.

The Tripura PAC has been constituted under the Tripura Police Act, 2007, with the powers of a civil court to summon and enforce attendance of witnesses under the civil procedure code, 1908.
