AGARTALA / KALYANPUR, Dec 15 (TIWN): IPFT’s demand for separate land and Manik Govt.’s silent role over it, to save own vote-banks increasing risks in hilly areas of Tripura. Clashes among tribals already started in hilly areas which is turning into a riot, may be worsen in 16th December’s ‘Hill Band’.

According to the sources, on Monday  at Kalyanpur a clash between IPFT and CPI-M cadres left one IPFT member critically injured by 4 CPI-M cadres.

The victim has been identified as Rajesh Debbarma (IPFT), who started oral debates with CPI-M members and in return the 4 CPI-M cadres namely Shanta Debbarma, Narendra Debbarma, Sandhi Debbarma & Shantosh Debbarma wounded Rajesh Debbarma cruelly.

The incident took place at Villatali under Kalyanpur. FIRs have been lodged by both sides of IPFT and CPI-M at Kalyanpur police station. However, police is further investigating the case.

It’s to be mentioned here that on night of 1 day before Municipal Election 2015, at South Tripura clashes ends very miserably by wounding 5 people with sharp weapons. Such incidents are increasing after IPFT announced to go in strike on 16th Dec.

IPFT’s demand for different state was started many days ago and although CPI-M leaders strictly protested IPFT’s motives via press conferences, but no initiative has been taken to solve the issue and no action has been taken  when IPFT held mass rallies in wild gestures, which disrupted normal lives accoss the whole Agartala city in the month of August 2015.

On December 12 (the day of Municipal election result), CPI-M held press meet and announced that CPI-M will strictly protest IPFT’s decision to go in strike on Dec 16 for the demand of separate Twipra-land. CPI-M although highly criticized the mission of IPFT and similar such groups around India, who also held meetings at Delhi among themselves in demand of separate states, but keeping in mind about the Tribal vote bank in the 2015  to 2018 diplomatic  Tripura CM is playing a silent role to grab the votes of the tribal people.

The strike will not only be observe in Tripura but also in Kukiland, Dimaraji and Bodoland on the same day for constituting separate states under the sponsorship of National Federation for New States onDec 16. But chances remains that such demands and clashes, which are rising day by day is shaping into a very dangerous from, may lead into “Riots” in future.

On Monday also IPFT held a press conference at Agartala press club, with the same demand. So govt. should think about the problems increasing in the hilly areas, and take care of the safety of people over hills.
