KAMALPUR, Dec 7 (TIWN): The hurly-burly of political campaigning regarding the ensuing civic poll subsided at 4 pm on Monday afternoon. The political parties have been found busy in overcoming the rivals to grab the public opinion in the last moment. Administration too, was in strict vigilance to stop any untoward incident at this stage. For the 11 seated Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat, the CPI-M has been into most dominant position using its money power, muscle power and party-loyal administration. The main opponent Congress also did not leave any scope to influence the public opinion in its favor. The another party in the contest BJP, tried to give a jolt to the other parties with actress turned politician Rupa Ganguly’s short visit. But as BJP failed to contest in all the seats, then they became cornered in the competition. In 13 seated Ambassa Municipal Corporation, the battle turned interesting because of the neck to neck fight between CPI-M on the one side and Congress and BJP on the other. In comparison, BJP became more powerful and prime rival of CPI-M at Ambassa. At Kumarghat Corporation Congress already received massive jolt as the local leaders withdrew their candidature. And at last Congress managed to contest in seven wards among 13. BJP also promised of a heavy fight at the beginning but failed to keep the pace the momentum. At the last phase of heavy campaign all the parties got busy in securing that, none of their issues got left out of the reach of the voters.
Which party would be able to curb the public opinion on 9th December next, would be revealed only on 12th December next.
