AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Not even a week after the opening of the alternative national highway, lack of security has already hit the route. Improper security arrangements had spreaded panic among the locals of the areas after a youth has been left seriously injured after being attacked by the hooligans at alternative national highway.
It is to be mentioned here that Tripura has opened the alternate National Highway 44 via Kukital-Kurti to end month long wait of Tripura bound goods vehicles to reach to their destination but lack of security has given rise to panic among the locals.
After 24 hours of a mysterious incident where a businessman was left critically injured after being stabbed by a group of miscreants at Akhaidhum along ChandghiraKathaltali-Premtala alternative national highway on Wednesday police could not trace the culprit.
The incident took place on Wednesday when the miscreants tried to snatch his cash and abduct the victim. The injured businessman was identified as Ranjan Das (26) of East Churaibari. Primary investigation says that, the businessman was way walking back home after business from Silchar when he was attacked by a four-member group of miscreants. One Jaminur Rahman, led the group. They stabbed him and tried to snatch his cash and abduct him at Akhaidhum along Chandghira-Kathaltali-Premtala alternative national highway at 2.30 pm.
The victim somehow managed to escape the scene with the help of locals. Getting alarm Churaibari Police shifted him to a nearby hospital for medical aid. SDPO Rajdip Deb rushed to the spot. An FIR was registered with Bazaricherra Police Station accusing the goons under Section- 341, 325, 379 and 34 of IPC.
However, police is further investigating the case.
