AGARTALA, September 9 (TIWN): After the two day long state committee meeting , on Wednesday afternoon CPI-M held a press conference at Melarmath Party Office and announced preparedness about the upcoming urban-body election.
CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar told media that in December, the urban body elections will be held.
State Secretary asked all the govt. employees to get ready for this election.
Elections will be held at in total 11 Municipality corporations and in 9 Nagar Panchayats. CPI-M leader Gautam Das was also present in the press meet.
However, Dhar further added, “the election prepearation must proceed peacefully, although earlier in some places BJP and RSS had tried to create violence. But tight security will be provided by Govt so that no chance of violence will be there”.
Dhar also critized IPFT and agreed that whole Agartala city had observed what IPFT hooligans did, which will not be tolerated in a civilized society, neither their intentions.
Dhar added, in upcoming election IPFT will understand what is their position and people will let them know through their votes. “In coming days election result will tell them what is their real position in state”, added Dhar.
Mentioning CPI-M’s increasing support base in state he said, “In last two months 875 families and in total 2,674 voters had joined CPI-M”, which is a very positive sign for CPI-M party.
