IGM hospital: State Govt forced to form Investigation team to dig the mystery of 3 persons death

AGARTALA, September 6 (TIWN): In order to investigate the death of 3 people in a row of same family including two minors at IGM hospital on September 4, under the chairmanship of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Debbarma, an associate professor Pediatrics, a three member team has been formed. The team is going to dig out the definite reason behind the death of 3 people in a row of same family including two minors which was allegedly due to the discrepancy in the treatment by the doctors.

However, the Health Department has ordered the committee to submit the report within 15 days. The report should include all the information of the investigation. This investigation is being made to confirm the reason behind the death and whether there was any negligence of the doctors or not. Besides, the West Police are going to submit the postmortem report and later the investigation will be continued by the investigation committee of the IGM Hospital formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Debbarma. 

After the incident, the family members of the deceased has lodged complaint with west police station demanding arrest of the accused doctors with an allegation of discrepancy in the treatment by the doctors of the hospital. Reportedly, the resentment brewed up when the four people of the same family belonging to Nagichorra area were admitted to IGM hospital with mere report of food poisoning on September 2 night. Among the four members of the family three died at the hospital. 

The deceased are identified as Sristi Das (7), Maxi Das (9) and Basanti Debbarma (52).Seeing the declining health condition of the victims the family members rushed them to IGM hospital and got them admitted for further treatment.

The family members of the deceased stated that the health condition of Sristi Das (7), Maxi Das (9) Basanti Debbarma (52) and Lipika Das (20) started to deteriorate after they had consume a sweet dish at their home on September 2. 

Due to the negligence by the doctors in treatment and for proving them wrong treatment the 7 year old Sristi Das already died on September 2 night followed by the sudden demise of Maxi Das (9) in the hospital on September 3.

However, collision sparked off between the family members and the doctors when the death of the 52 year old Basanti Debbarma came to them as a bolt from the blue.
