AGARTALA, September 3 (TIWN): On yet another push by the Tripura High Court, the government has come under pressure for allegedly disbanding regularization of the service of all the contractual teachers under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sharba Shiksha Abhiya (SSA). This has been a long term demand of the teachers to provide salary on regular pay scale.

Along with the state the HC had also recently issued a notice to the Union Ministry for Human Resource Development (HRD) seeking reply over the regularisation of the RMSA and SSA teachers.

At the meantime state education minister Tapan Chakroborty clarified that MHRD had informed the states on January 1, 2014, that no separate SSA Teachers cadre is permissible and all teachers should be appointed by states/UT’s.

However this would be further clarified just after the HC hears the proceeding of the case pegged on October 16 after the getting the reply both from the state as well as from the centre.

General Secretary of Tripura Contract Teacher’s and Employees Association, Rajkumar Choudhury said that they are seeking regularisation of jobs since long but the state government failed to recognize our demand. This organisation is demanding to regularize workers who are working under RMSA and SSA from very long time. Teachers alleged that instead of recognizing their services, officials are trying to suppress their voice.

The RMSA is part of the national educational scheme envisaged to impart standard secondary education. The teachers and workers alleged that, Tripura Government has paid them lowest in the country. While many state governments have regularised the jobs of SSA teachers and employees, the left front government is walking on the unfavorable way.

The leaders of the organising association alleged that, since last one half years they are seeking time to meet CM for giving a memorandum on their demands but CM is refusing appointment.
