Centre approves Rs. 2 crore to develop handloom in North Tripura

AGARTALA, August 31 (TIWN): The central government had approved Rs. 2 crore for the development of handloom industry in north Tripura District. According to the official sources around Rs. 49 lakh would be spend for handloom cluster at Kailashahar.
Altogether 30 farmers will be trained and other assistance would be provided to them with this amount. It is expected that the farmers will be benefited by selling the handloom products.
However, the centre had approved the fund of Rs. 2 crore for the upgradation of rural handloom wavers of the state who are at present deprived from government aide at large.
