AGARTALA, August 24 (TIWN): The law and order in the state had dipped all time low. Administration have failed miserably to curtail the deploring situation. An environment of tense and fear prevailing across the state. The latest edition is physical assault of university girl student in broad daylight by an errant auto driver. The incident happened in heart of the capital. The incident showed how hapless is state police. A girl student was openly assaulted in broad day light, by police vehicle went to West Agartala woman police station. But police declined to register case. At last after immense pressure case was registered and the duty officer was suspended for dereliction of duties. When the situation of the state was going out of control, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, who also holds the department of police is surprisingly blind folded and tight lipped. He is least interest in the deteriorating law and order, for last few days Sarkar was busy with party meeting in Delhi. All state senior leaders including some heavy weight ministers of CPI(M) are also stationed in nation capital. Is the central committee meeting of CPI-M is more important for the chief minister than the deteriorating law and order in the state. Every day there are media report of murder in the state. It has become a routine affair for the people of the state. But Sarkar, is more interest in flying to Delhi very frequently to attend party meeting ignoring the burning problem of the state.

The conviction rate here is very low compared to national level.

The national level is 40 percent here it is  14 percent. Even chief Justice of High Court have expressed dismay on low conviction rate .The police station have made party office. For everything, the police officers wait for instruction from Melarmath.

Tripura CM Manik Sarkar is so powerful that CM's close aide and scamster BDO Bimal Chakraborty (Rs 51 crore MGNREGA scam accused)  was let go scot free as Tripura Police didn't file chargesheet within 180 days as required by law.

CM Manik Sarkar certainly deserves honour for dodging law and judiciary to save his corrupt aides.
